OverProtocol, a Layer-1 blockchain designed to enable full node operation on personal devices, has announced a strategic partnership with Pocket Network, a decentralized infrastructure protocol. This collaboration aims to enhance the performance, cost-competitiveness, and accessibility of Web3 infrastructure, particularly in the growing South Korean market.

The partnership will see OverProtocol's contributor, SuperBlock, become Korea’s first Pocket Network gateway. This integration will promote Pocket’s decentralized RPC layer, supporting both OverProtocol and other blockchain networks. The Pocket Network Foundation will provide a subsidy for gateway throughput in the form of a token swap with OverProtocol, offering technical support and introducing both SuperBlock and OverProtocol to the Pocket Network Ecosystem.

Ben Kim, CEO of SuperBlock and Founder of OverProtocol, emphasized the synergy created by this partnership, stating, "Our goal is to make Web3 infrastructure accessible to everyone. Partnering with Pocket creates powerful synergy — enabling us to deliver decentralized, reliable services and empowering users to become active contributors."

SuperBlock, which develops products, tools, and applications for OverProtocol, will serve as the gateway to subsidize Web3 startup infrastructure costs in South Korea. This initiative is similar to how AWS provides free cloud credits, aiming to foster innovation in the Korean blockchain industry. SuperBlock will also leverage the progress made by public Layer-1s in the region, such as Kaia.

Additionally, Pocket Network and OverProtocol are collaborating to develop a KRW stablecoin distribution framework aligned with Korean regulatory standards. Pocket Network will enhance access and network stability through its decentralized RPC infrastructure, while OverProtocol will drive adoption by integrating the KRW stablecoin into real-world use cases, bridging core blockchain infrastructure with practical financial applications.

OverProtocol has a global daily active user (DAU) base of over 150,000 and has deployed more than 3,400 personal nodes across 143 countries using its dynamic lightweight infrastructure. This experience will be leveraged to provide efficient and scalable RPC endpoints to Pocket Network. OverProtocol envisions a future where dApps are hosted entirely on personal nodes without centralized servers, achieving true decentralization.

The collaboration between Pocket Network and OverProtocol could evolve into decentralized Content Delivery Network (CDN) capabilities for dApps via RPC endpoints within the Pocket Network. This would further strengthen the decentralized infrastructure, making it more robust and reliable.
