Oura's IPO: Polymarket Pays $100 -> $714 on the One Outcome the Crowd Priced Cheapest
Oura -- the smart ring that tracks your sleep, your heart, your everything -- filed to go public the same week SpaceXSPCX-- dropped its prospectus and OpenAI got in line behind it. That's the hottest IPO wave in a generation, and Polymarket is treating Oura's debut like a coin flip. The best part: the market's own prices are backwards, and the realistic outcome is the cheapest ticket on the board.
This is the biggest IPO year since the late 90s. SpaceX released its blockbuster prospectus the same week Oura filed confidentially with the SEC, with OpenAI filing right after and a wave of mega-deals behind them (forbes.com). Retail money is pouring into literally everything -- Robinhood just launched a second exchange-listed venture fund aimed at Y Combinator seed startups and it's already raising $200 million (thedefiant.io). In a market this hungry, the company that's cheap relative to its own sales is the one that pops hardest.
Oura is that company. It was valued at $11 billion in October after a $900 million funding round (cnbc.com). It's on track to pass five million paid members, and the deal will be the largest consumer-wearables IPO since Peloton's 2019 debut and Fitbit's 2015 listing (forbes.com). Bloomberg reports it expects around $1.5 billion in revenue this year, and Motley Fool called Oura the IPO with "much bigger upside" than SpaceX -- because at roughly 5.5x projected sales it's reasonable, while SpaceX trades at an eye-watering 48x forward revenue (fool.com). Profitable, growing, category leader, and cheap. That's the recipe for a violent first-day pop.
Here's the board. The market resolves to Oura's market cap at the close of its first trading day, and the crowd thinks there's a 96.7% chance the IPO happens by the end of the year. Right now the buckets look like this:
- $12.5B-$15B: ~15.5c
- $15B-$17.5B: ~13c <- the value ticket
- $17.5B-$20B: ~14.5c
- at least $20B: ~16.5c
Read those numbers again. The crowd prices a $20B+ close -- an 82% pop, more than double the $11B private round -- as MORE likely than a $15-17.5B close, which is only a 36-59% pop. That's an inverted distribution. In any sane market, the moderate outcome is more probable than the moon shot. The crowd's own expected value sits right around $14B, smack in the mid buckets, and yet they made the fantasy their single most-priced outcome and left the realistic one at 13c.
The $15B-$17.5B bucket is the trade. $100 at the 14c ask buys about 714 shares. If Oura closes day one between $15B and $17.5B -- a normal, healthy pop for a hot consumer-tech IPO in a mania market -- that's ~$714 back, ~$614 profit. About 7x. (Or it goes to zero -- that's the deal. If Oura fizzles near its round, pops past $17.5B, or the listing slips past December, this ticket dies.)

Why is nobody looking? This market did only ~$27k of volume in the last 24 hours. SpaceX and OpenAI own every IPO headline; everyone's screaming about the rocket company priced at 48x revenue while the profitable smart-ring leader at 5.5x sales trades in a quiet corner nobody scrolls to. Companies this size that file confidentially usually price within months -- so the resolution is a ticking clock. One listing day, one closing number, the whole board settles at once.
This is the easy half of the 2026 IPO trade. The market that would tell you exactly where Oura lands is paying 7x for the outcome its own prices say is the likely one. The crowd is staring at the rocket ship. The ring is right there.

Summary
Oura, worth $11B privately and projecting ~$1.5B in 2026 revenue, filed its IPO the same week as SpaceX and OpenAI. Polymarket prices its day-one closing market cap across buckets -- but bizarrely prices the $20B+ moon shot (16.5c) ABOVE the realistic $15-17.5B pop (13c). Buy the $15B-$17.5B bucket at ~13c: $100 becomes ~$714 (~7x). Risk: Oura closes lower or the IPO slips past Dec 31 and the ticket goes to zero. Odds as of Aug 9, 2026 and moving. Liquidity per bucket is modest (~$10-28k), so size accordingly.
