1min read A reporter learned on November 25 that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and eleven other departments recently issued the "Upgrade Plan for the 'Sail' Action of 5G Large-scale Application" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), proposing to build a development pattern of "Universal Capabilities, Widespread Applications, and Widely Empowered" by the end of 2027 and fully realize the large-scale application of 5G.The "Plan" proposes that by the end of 2027, the scale of 5G empowerment will be prominent. The penetration rate of 5G personal users will exceed 85%, and the proportion of 5G network access traffic will exceed 75%. New consumption and new experiences will be enriched. Key industry fields such as factories, hospitals, and scenic spots will be cultivated to become pioneers of 5G applications, driving the digital transformation and upgrading of industries. The number of 5G IoT terminals will exceed 100 million, and the penetration rate of 5G applications in large and medium-sized industrial enterprises will reach 45%. The supply of 5G industry will be enriched. The international standard participation of 5G-A will be deepened, and the domestic industry standard system of 5G will be accelerated to be improved, with over 150 5G integration application standards.The "Plan" makes a series of deployments around "Application Upgrade, Promoting Multi-directional and Deep Empowerment", "Industrial Upgrade, Building a Full-chain Development Support", "Network Upgrade, Improving the Service Capability in All Scenarios", and "Ecosystem Upgrade, Strengthening Multi-layer Collaborative Innovation".Among them, in terms of application upgrade, the "Plan" proposes to expand and upgrade new consumption driven by 5G, empower production and operation to upgrade quality, and upgrade public services to achieve universal benefits, including "promoting '5G on board', encouraging the pre-installation of 5G communication modules in vehicles, and helping intelligent connected vehicles upgrade their driving and cabin quality" and "accelerating the innovation of applications such as 5G new calling, naked 3D, cloud phone, and 5G messaging, and achieving a user scale of over 100 million for 5G new calling".In terms of network upgrade, the "Plan" proposes to deepen the construction of "Broadband Border", accelerate the extension of 5G networks to towns, administrative villages, near-sea, border areas, and other regions, actively use satellite communication technology to enhance network coverage capabilities, and deepen the coverage of key scenarios such as government centers, cultural and tourism venues, and health institutions to provide higher quality network services.
