All five received the same low dose by a single subretinal injection. After three to six months of follow-up, all five showed clinically meaningful improvement in at least one measure of visual function. Best-corrected visual acuity improved in three of five, structural improvements were seen in four of five, and among the four patients whose microperimetry was evaluable, three showed meaningful gains in retinal sensitivity. What carries the case here is clinical probability, and clinical probability is paid for with other people's money. As of the last report the company said its cash covers operations into 2029, built through ordinary-share placements — $23 million late in 2025, another $25 million in February 2026 — and through a financing with Oberland Capital structured as notes rather than common stock. The structure is worth understanding, because "non-dilutive" in biotech usually means something smaller than it sounds. The agreement funds the first $35 million of a $155 million facility at a floating interest rate around 4.1%, matures in seven years, is interest-only for six, capitalizes half its early interest into the principal, and gives Oberland an option to convert up to 10% of the principal into stock at $6.72 a share. But the interest payments, the capitalized principal, and the conversion kicker are still claims stacked ahead of whatever cash the equity holders will ever see — on top of a history of dilution at lower prices.

So would the quieter risk that the next Phase 3, years from revenue, has to be funded through more dilution or harder debt terms. Competition in retinal gene therapy is real, and durability — whether a restored signal holds for years, not quarters — is the open question no three-month readout can answer.

Let Cohort 2 confirm the dose-response, let the randomized Phase 3 get green-lit with a functional gain patients can feel, and this becomes a story the market has to start pricing as a product rather than a bet. Until those proof points land, the patient move is the one that pays for the waiting — not a bid that front-runs results this early-stage company has not yet produced.
