Oklo and Vertiv have announced a collaboration to develop power and cooling solutions for hyperscale and colocation data centers in the US. The companies will co-develop advanced power and thermal management systems that leverage heat from Oklo's onsite power plant to drive Vertiv's cooling systems, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact. They will also produce end-to-end reference designs for data centers using Oklo's power plants. The partnership aims to address critical data center power and cooling challenges and support the growing demand for AI and high-performance computing operations.

Oklo Inc. (NYSE: OKLO) and Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), two industry leaders, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at developing advanced power and cooling solutions for hyperscale and colocation data centers in the United States. The collaboration, announced on July 22, 2025, focuses on co-developing modular, energy-efficient power and cooling systems tailored to meet the unique demands of modern data centers.

The partnership will leverage Oklo's advanced nuclear power plants to provide clean, reliable energy, while Vertiv will contribute its expertise in cooling and power innovation. By integrating Oklo's onsite power plants with Vertiv's cooling systems, the collaboration aims to significantly enhance data center energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. This innovative approach will support the growing demand for AI and high-performance computing operations, which require resilient and efficient power solutions.

Jacob DeWitte, Co-Founder and CEO of Oklo, stated, "This agreement is about delivering clean power, energy-efficient cooling, and infrastructure solutions purpose-built for AI factories, data centers, and high-density compute." He added that the partnership will allow for the co-design of energy and thermal management solutions from the outset, creating greater value and efficiency for data center operators.

Gio Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, echoed DeWitte's sentiments, noting that the collaboration is an extension of Vertiv's commitment to energy-efficient infrastructure that supports modern data center demands. Albertazzi highlighted that as the demand for AI and high-performance computing continues to grow, nuclear energy is increasingly becoming a viable option for hyperscale, colocation, and other large data centers.

Oklo's approach to power generation is designed to adapt quickly to market needs, offering customers more usable energy and enabling seamless teamwork between the power source and data center operations. By deploying power plants adjacent to customer demand, Oklo and Vertiv will deliver a unified solution that simplifies deployment and improves performance and energy efficiency of data centers.

The partnership marks a significant step in exploring how advanced nuclear energy can support the evolving power and cooling needs of data centers and other high-growth sectors. Oklo, which is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale, is well-positioned to lead this initiative. Vertiv, with its extensive portfolio of power, cooling, and IT infrastructure solutions, will bring its expertise in cooling and power innovation to the table.

The collaboration is expected to produce end-to-end reference designs for data centers that use Oklo's onsite power plants. These designs will be specifically tailored to support the unique needs of modern data centers, including those driven by AI and high-performance computing operations.

Oklo and Vertiv are committed to driving innovation and addressing the critical power and cooling challenges faced by data centers today. By leveraging their respective strengths and expertise, the partnership aims to create a more sustainable and efficient future for data center operations.
