Nvidia, the undisputed champion in the realm of AI and the world's third most valuable company, is set to make a big move today. The GPU giant will be hosting the GTC 2024 conference at the San Jose Convention Center from March 18-21, marking the first offline return of the conference in five years. The event brings together notable tech giants OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta, and will witness Nvidia unveiling their latest advancements in accelerated computing, generative AI, and robotics.
Kicking off the conference, CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote speech titled Don't Miss This Transformative Moment in AI at 1 p.m. PDT. Following the impactful release of the Hopper architecture and flagship H100 GPU two years ago, this year, conference attendees can anticipate the introduction of the even more potent Blackwell architecture and the B100 GPU.
Rumored to be equipped with TSMC's latest 3nm process and a 2 x GPU dies on the innovative TSMC CoWoS-L 2.5D packaging technology, the B100 GPU could potentially redefine the AI landscape. It introduces an impressive 192GB of ultra-fast HBM3E memory utilizing 8-Hi stacks, while its beefed-up counterpart, B200, will boast a whopping 288GB of HBM3E memory. With expected shipping dates in 2024 and 2025, respectively, these products are set to solidify Nvidia's dominance in the AI field.
In addition to hardware enhancements, Nvidia is expected to showcase its significant contributions towards the evolution of AI cloud services. Having previously collaborated with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud to launch the DGX cloud services, the company is now expected to present broader and more potent updates. These touch on various sectors, including AI-assisted content generation, game creation, and drug discovery. Moreover, Nvidia's industrial Omniverse is set to offer a more complex virtual world, simulating reality and devising solutions through accelerated computing.
The GTC 2024 conference also hints at considerable updates in the robotic industry. Major automotive and robotics manufacturers will showcase next-generation machines and vehicles, including the new Volvo EX90, Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class, Polestar 3, WeRide Robobus, and Nuro R3 autonomous delivery vehicle. Not to be left behind, twenty-five different robots from renowned companies such as Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics, Disney, and Google DeepMind will be displayed, potentially marking a significant leap in the robotics field. Today, all eyes are on Nvidia as they prepare to set a new standard in AI, computing, and robotics.
