Nvidia assures Chinese clients of uninterrupted H20 chip supply, sources say.

Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) has reportedly assured its Chinese clients of an uninterrupted supply of its H20 chips, according to industry sources. This assurance comes as the global demand for AI chips continues to surge, with both AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) and Nvidia reporting robust growth in their respective quarters.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) delivered strong second-quarter results, with revenue growing 32% year-over-year to a record $7.7 billion, driven by the increasing demand for AI chips. AMD's new MI355 GPU has seen significant traction in the market, offering a 35x performance boost for ultra-low latency workloads. Looking ahead, AMD expects third-quarter revenue of $8.7 billion, with potential for even higher results if U.S. licensing approvals for China sales come through.

Nvidia, on the other hand, reported $46 billion in quarterly sales and forecasted $54 billion for the current period. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted China's potential $50 billion AI chip market this year, with growth expected to rise by 50% annually. He also pointed to rising startup funding and broad enterprise adoption as long-term growth drivers.

Analysts project AMD's revenue to climb to about $40 billion in 2026, implying a 21% growth rate next year. However, if AMD expands its AI GPU sales beyond $13 billion annually, it could outpace these forecasts. AMD's MI355 and upcoming MI400 GPUs position the company to have a significant portion of the trillion-dollar AI chip market by the end of the decade.

Nvidia's assurance to its Chinese clients about the H20 chip supply underscores the intense competition and strategic importance of the AI chip market. Both AMD and Nvidia are vying for a substantial share of this market, with each company's new product launches and market forecasts reflecting their aggressive growth strategies.
