Nvidia and AMD Forge Powerful Alliance with Humain to Propel Saudi Arabia's AI Ambitions

Nvidia and AMD are strategically partnering with Humain, a Saudi AI company, to drive the development of a new AI factory and data center in Saudi Arabia. Nvidia has committed to supplying more than 18,000 of its advanced AI chips for this endeavor, marking a significant step in the Kingdom’s plan to become a global hub for artificial intelligence.

The collaboration was revealed during a U.S. Middle East visit led by the White House. Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang announced that the initial phase would include a supercomputer equipped with 18,000 Nvidia GB300 Grace Blackwell AI chips, which are among the company's most advanced released earlier this year. These chips are expected to power the data center projected to have an output of up to 500 megawatts, providing the necessary infrastructure for large-scale AI model training and deployment.

Alongside Nvidia, AMD is also joining forces with Humain to provide chips and software, contributing to a network that extends from Saudi Arabia to the United States. While the agreement indicates significant investment involvement, the details of AMD’s financial commitment remain unspecified.

This partnership is pivotal in aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives, aiming for economic diversification and leadership in digital innovation. Humain plans to leverage the Nvidia Omniverse platform to enhance human-machine interaction through AI, promoting advancements in industries such as manufacturing and energy through integrated digital twins.

Furthermore, this strategic initiative seeks to foster the growth of artificial intelligence in Saudi Arabia by undertaking large-scale skill development programs. Together, Nvidia and Humain aim to equip thousands of Saudi citizens with expertise in AI and related technologies, positioning the nation as a key player in the global AI landscape.

Nvidia and AMD's involvement highlights their attempts to broaden their customer base for AI accelerator chips, crucial components in developing AI software. This move signifies their strategic interest in national AI projects supported by governments to bolster indigenous AI capabilities.
