Arup, in collaboration with Nordic Office of Architecture and Rodeo Arkitekter, has won the design competition for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's (NRK) new headquarters in Oslo. The project involves designing 60,000m² of gross floor area and 50,000m² of utility floor area, with a focus on developing contemporary specialist spaces. The design features a four-storey base and a circular upper structure, reflecting NRK's brand through its distinctive form. The HQ is expected to accommodate evolving media production technologies and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration among the corporation's staff. Construction is anticipated to begin after the receipt of formal planning consent, with a goal to relocate to the new headquarters by 2029.
