Northstar Clean Technologies has successfully commissioned its Calgary asphalt shingle reprocessing facility, producing its highest quality asphalt from waste shingles to date. The company aims to reach 80 tonnes daily production for Emissions Reduction Alberta's grant milestone and is planning U.S. expansion with four facilities, backed by Export Development Canada funding and off-take agreements with major shingle manufacturer TAMKO.

Northstar Clean Technologies Inc. (TSXV: ROOF) has successfully commissioned its Calgary asphalt shingle reprocessing facility, producing its highest quality asphalt from waste shingles to date. The company's Empower Calgary Facility has now completed the commissioning of all major processing units, including the hydrocarbon processing 'back-end,' which is a significant step in de-risking the company's technology and intellectual property [1].

The facility has produced liquid asphalt that meets or exceeds the quality standards of the company's commercial agreements. Preliminary tests indicate that the asphalt quality is significantly better than the Delta pilot plant product. The company aims to increase production levels to meet the Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) Commissioning Milestone 3 volume of 80 tonnes/day and eventually reach full nameplate capacity [1].

Northstar's CEO, Aidan Mills, stated that the asphalt produced in Calgary is the highest quality the company has ever produced, demonstrating that their technology works effectively. The company plans to increase production levels to meet the ERA Milestone 3 threshold and move beyond that to nameplate capacity [1].

In addition to its Canadian operations, Northstar has secured support for U.S. expansion plans involving four facilities. The company has received backing from Export Development Canada and has off-take agreements with major shingle manufacturer TAMKO. These developments position Northstar to become a leader in the recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles in North America [2].

The company has also granted incentive compensation to its directors, officers, employees, and select consultants, totaling 2,422,766 stock options, 538,702 restricted share units, and 1,197,391 performance share units. The grants are subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval and align with the company's approved equity incentive plan [1].

Northstar's mission is to lead the recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles in North America, addressing numerous stakeholder objectives and contributing to the circular economy. The company's innovative technology aims to reprocess used or defective asphalt shingle waste back into its primary components for reuse or resale.
