Two North Korean prisoners of war held by Ukraine have expressed their desire to start a "new life" in South Korea, according to a letter seen by AFP. The soldiers, who sustained injuries on the battlefield, have thanked those working on their behalf and expressed their gratitude to the South Korean people. They believe they are not alone and view the South Koreans as their own family. The letter represents the first time they have publicly stated their desire to defect to the South.
