Nike (NKE.US) collaborates with Kim Kardashian's SKIMS to introduce a new women's athletic brand.
Nike (NKE.US) has joined forces with Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand SKIMS to launch a new women's sportswear line. The companies announced in a joint statement that they would launch a full product line under the name "NikeSKIMS," which will include apparel, footwear, and accessories. The collaboration is based on a shared vision for women's bodywear. "This partnership is a perfect representation of our shared vision to create products that are both functional and shapewear for women of all shapes and sizes," said Kardashian, a co-founder of SKIMS. Kardashian said in the statement that the first collection from NikeSKIMS would debut in the spring. Executives plan to take the brand global by 2026. Nike is under a transformation led by new CEO Elliott Hill, and women's athletes are a key area of focus. Earlier this month, Nike aired its first Super Bowl ad in decades, featuring a number of top female sports stars, including WNBA player Katelyn Clark, sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson, and gymnast Jordan Chiles.
