NIA Director General Sadanand Date Repatriated to Maharashtra Cadre

Sadanand Date, Director General of the National Investigative Agency (NIA), has been repatriated to his parent cadre, Maharashtra. He assumed leadership of the NIA in March 2023 and previously served as Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad chief and held various positions in the state. Date was honored with the President's Police Medal for Gallantry in 2008 for his role in combating the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He will be reinstated with immediate effect.
