Nexo Launches $10K Course Record Prize for DP World Tour Golfers

Nexo, a digital assets wealth platform, has partnered with the DP World Tour to launch a new weekly prize called the Course Record Presented by Nexo, designed to reward golfers for setting new course records. The initiative will debut at the Nexo Championship, taking place from August 7–10 at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland. The prize fund begins at $10,000, which will be awarded to the first player who sets a new course record that remains unbroken by the end of the event. If no course record is set, the $10,000 will carry over to the next eligible tournament, with an additional $10,000 added to the pool [1].

To mark the launch, Nexo will also distribute $50,000 in NEXO Tokens to any player who breaks a course record during the Nexo Championship. With 10 course records set in 2024 and six in 2025 so far, the new prize is expected to drive strong performances throughout the Race to Dubai season [1]. Nexo Co-Founder Antoni Trenchev stated that the initiative is the first of its kind in golf, merging player achievement with digital assets, and represents a significant development in the company’s collaboration with the DP World Tour [1]. Ben Cowen, the DP World Tour’s Chief Tournament and Operations Officer, emphasized that the prize will enhance the excitement of tournaments by pushing players to perform at their best and rewarding exceptional play [1].

The prize will remain active for the remainder of the 2025 season, concluding with the DP World Tour Championship, and will reset for the 2026 season. Only tournaments played on a single course will qualify, and tournaments affected by bad weather must complete at least 36 holes to be considered. Rounds with preferred lies are not eligible [1]. The Nexo Championship follows the grand opening of Trump International Golf Links on July 29, an event attended by the Trump family and Nexo’s founders. The tournament is also anticipated to boost the local economy in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, contributing to a broader golf tourism industry that injects over $400 million annually into Scotland’s economy [1].

The partnership between Nexo and the DP World Tour has been strengthening recently. In June 2025, Nexo inked a multi-year agreement to become the DP World Tour’s Official Marketing Partner and Digital Wealth Platform, a title it will hold through 2027 [1].
