The LIGP, launched in 2019, invites employees to nominate and vote for local 501(c)(3) nonprofits within 30 miles of a U.S. Newell office or facility. This year's recipients include organizations doing vital work in their communities. The grants will support various initiatives, such as medical services for vulnerable animals, school-based mobile pantries, health education programs, and inclusive play spaces tailored to children with autism.
Notable recipients include the Atlanta Community Food Bank, which will use the grant to expand its innovative school-based mobile pantries, and the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, which will support its Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program. Other recipients include the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter, which will help expand its Nutrition Program, and the Person to Person nonprofit, which will support its Critical Needs Assistance Program.
Since its inception, the LIGP has distributed more than $1 million in charitable donations, continuing to focus on employee-led giving and community engagement. Newell Brands is committed to fostering nonprofit partnerships and deepening employee engagement in philanthropy, as highlighted by Christina Moylan, Newell's Director of Corporate Philanthropy.
