AAPL--
The new design features a clean and modern look, with more visible shortcuts for Search and My List, which were previously hidden on the left-hand side. The homepage has been streamlined to better reflect the elevated experience users have come to expect from Netflix. The design also includes a top menu bar that relocates commonly used features like Search, Home, Shows, Movies, Games, and My Netflix, making them more accessible [2].
One of the standout features of the new design is the improved real-time recommendations. Netflix has made the recommendations on the homepage more responsive to users' moods and interests in the moment. Additionally, the app now includes contextual labels to provide more information about recommended content, such as "Recent addition" and "No. 3 in movies" [2].
The redesign also includes a new home page with a streamlined, modern design that puts content front and center. The featured program on the home screen is now presented in a large card isolated from the rest of the interface, with each section featuring a large main card that includes information like release date and show or movie description [2].
The new design is available to users running tvOS 17 or later. Users may need to manually update the app via the App Store on their Apple TV to see the new changes, as the interface update is not appearing automatically for all users [2].
The redesign comes several months after Netflix first announced it in May and follows a months-long rollout that began with other TV platforms earlier this year. On iOS devices, Netflix is still experimenting with a generative AI search feature that will let users search for shows and movies using conversational language [1].
