Nestle board names Philipp Navratil as CEO
Vevey, Switzerland — Nestlé's Board of Directors has appointed Philipp Navratil as the new CEO of the company, effective immediately following the departure of Laurent Freixe. Freixe's departure came after an investigation into a breach of Nestlé's Code of Business Conduct regarding an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate [1].
Navratil, who began his career at Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor, has a strong track record of achieving results in challenging environments. He has held various commercial roles and has been instrumental in strengthening the Nescafé brand in Mexico and driving global strategy for the coffee and beverage business. Most recently, Navratil served as the CEO of Nespresso, where he accelerated growth and built strong momentum [1].
In his new role, Navratil will lead Nestlé into the future, aligning with the company's strategic direction and driving performance. He expressed his honor in being chosen and his commitment to working closely with the company's leadership to accelerate execution and drive value creation [1].
Separately, Nestlé has also appointed Rafael Lopez as the new CEO of Purina Europe. Lopez succeeds Jeff Hamilton, who has taken up the role of CEO of Nestlé Americas. Lopez's appointment aims to consolidate Purina’s market position through innovation and improved experiences for pets and their owners [2].
Lopez brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in strategic leadership, innovation, and brand development across the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. He looks forward to working with Purina's talented teams to deliver innovative, science-based nutrition and care solutions [2].
