Nepal has opened 97 remote peaks in the western region for free climbing to boost mountain tourism. The government has waived royalties for the next two years to attract climbers to less-visited areas and create jobs and income for local communities. The initiative aims to promote Nepal's unexplored mountain destinations and make climbing Mt Everest mandatory.
