Naperville Man Charged with Class X Felonies for Cocaine Possession and Sales

Alfonso Peregrino-Becerra, an Aurora resident, was arrested in Naperville after an eight-month investigation into alleged drug sales. He was charged with multiple Class X felonies, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Police found 29.6 grams of suspected cocaine on him and an additional 50.1 grams in his vehicle, along with a loaded handgun.

In a significant development, the Naperville Police Department (NPD) announced the arrest of Alfonso Peregrino-Becerra, an Aurora resident, following an eight-month investigation into alleged drug sales in the Naperville area. Peregrino-Becerra was taken into custody on September 20, 2023, after NPD executed a search warrant at his residence [1].

During the search, NPD recovered several items of evidentiary value, including a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for cocaine and packaging materials consistent with narcotics trafficking. Four firearms and United States currency were also discovered. Peregrino-Becerra was charged with multiple Class X felonies, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance [1].

According to recently booked records, Peregrino-Becerra faces additional charges for armed violence, as he allegedly committed a felony with a Category II weapon [2]. The charges related to controlled substances indicate that Peregrino-Becerra had in his possession 15 but less than 100 grams of cocaine, for which he was charged with manufacturing/delivering.

The Naperville Police Department emphasized that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty [1]. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
