Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt last Saturday, which also helped him gain a wave of sympathy votes, including the support of the world's richest man, Elon Musk.

According to media reports on Monday, citing sources, Musk said he plans to donate about $45 million a month to a super political action committee (PAC) that supports Trump's presidential campaign.

Financial documents filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday evening show that as of the end of June, Musk had not yet donated to an organization called America PAC.

It is currently unclear whether Musk has donated to this organization in July.

It was revealed that America PAC was established in June, mainly dedicated to voter registration, persuading voters to vote early, and applying for mail-in ballots in swing states.

Documents show that the political action committee has received donations from other well-known entrepreneurs, including Palantir Technologies co-founder Joe Lonsdale and cryptocurrency billionaires Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss.

According to multiple media reports, Lonsdale donated $1 million to America PAC through his company Lonsdale Enterprises.

Federal Election Commission documents show that the Winklevoss twins each donated $250,000 to the super PAC.

According to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission, from its establishment to the end of June, America PAC raised $8.8 million, spent $7.8 million, and had less than $1 million in cash on hand.

Musk is the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and is currently the world's richest man. Shortly after Trump was shot on Saturday, Musk officially expressed his support for Trump on the social media platform X.

On Monday, Trump received enough delegate votes at the Republican National Convention to be officially nominated as the Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Trump also announced on the same day that he had chosen Ohio Senator James Vance as his running mate.
