According to Cointelegraph, Tesla (TSLA.US) CEO Elon Musk responded to a question about the timing of the robotaxi event on the social media website X. He said he was requesting a design change he considered important to the front of the autonomous taxi model. Musk added that the extra time could allow the electric vehicle maker to show other things. However, Musk did not provide a specific date for the event. The robotaxi event was originally scheduled for August 8.

Morgan Stanley told investors earlier today that it didn’t think the delay to the robotaxi event would have a negative impact. The big bank’s analyst Adam Jonas and his team said the delayed robotaxi day would show off Tesla’s ability to demonstrate more than just its self-driving cars based on software. The firm expects Tesla’s Master Plan 4 to be based on its commercial ambitions in artificial intelligence, robotics and hybrid computing (including distributed computing and computing in the car), which covers everything from the cloud to the edge. Jonas said: “In the next few months or quarters, we expect to see the world of GenAI (general artificial intelligence) collide with the automotive ecosystem.”
