MN Holdings Bhd's Q4 net profit surged to RM12.1mil, a 2-fold increase from RM5mil in the previous year. Revenue jumped 144% YoY to RM179.4mil, driven by a 359% YoY surge in substation engineering revenue to RM145.3mil. For FY25, net profit rose to RM48.2mil from RM16.9mil, and revenue more than doubled to RM535.4mil from RM256.2mil.

Australian mining giant BHP has achieved significant milestones in its copper production, contributing to robust financial outcomes. The company produced over 2 million tonnes of copper in FY25, a 28% increase over the past three years, despite lower prices in iron ore and coal [1]. This growth underscores the strategic importance of copper in BHP's portfolio.

The company's revenue hit US$51.3 billion, with underlying EBITDA at US$26 billion, achieving a 53% margin. Profits stood at US$10.2 billion, and free cash flow totaled US$5.3 billion after capital and exploration expenses, including US$4.5 billion allocated to copper projects [1]. Notably, BHP's Copper Division's EBITDA soared 43.9% to US$12 billion, highlighting copper's vital role in the company's earnings.

To secure its position in the global copper market, BHP plans to invest US$11 billion annually in copper for FY26 and FY27, stabilizing at around US$10 billion per year from FY28 to FY30. Key projects include the Escondida Expansion in Chile, which aims to boost output by 22%, and the Copper South Australia project that could double production [1]. These initiatives, along with the Vicuña Project in Argentina and the Jansen project in Canada, strengthen BHP's ability to meet rising global copper demand.

BHP's focus on sustainability is evident in its commitment to reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30% from FY20 levels by FY30, and reaching net zero by 2050. The company is advancing in decarbonization efforts, including low-carbon shipping with ammonia, wind-assist, and biofuels, and exploring diesel alternatives like electric mining equipment [1]. Additionally, BHP launched a 158,000-hectare conservation project in Copper South Australia and boosted Indigenous procurement by 40%.

BHP's record copper production and innovation are crucial for global needs, especially in the context of renewable energy growth. The company uses advanced technology to extend the life and efficiency of its copper operations, supporting the low-carbon transition. Strategic agreements channel BHP's copper to wind turbines, EV batteries, and other green technologies, ensuring an efficient and sustainable copper supply to meet global demand [1].
