The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has granted permission for relevant basic telecommunications enterprises to utilize the 5G millimeter wave test frequency in the 26GHz band during the Asian Winter Games.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's website, in order to further meet the communication needs of the Asian Winter Games and promote technological innovation, the Ministry recently approved the use of 26GHz frequency band 5G millimeter wave test frequency by relevant basic telecommunications enterprises during the Asian Winter Games, supporting them to carry out technical verification around 8K broadcasting, perception and communication integration, and high, medium and low frequency band coordinated networking, which is the first time that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has approved the use of 26GHz frequency band test frequency by basic telecommunications enterprises.
Compared with the widely used 5G low and medium frequency bands, the 26GHz frequency band 5G millimeter wave can provide larger bandwidth, higher transmission rate and lower latency, which can better meet the communication needs of public mobile communication and industrial private networks. During the Asian Winter Games, the relevant technology verification will further enhance the cloud broadcasting capability and user viewing experience, better meet the communication needs in hot areas, and improve the technological content of the Asian Winter Games. At the same time, it will also play a positive role in exploring 26GHz frequency band 5G millimeter wave technology, promoting the maturity of the industry chain, promoting applications and spectrum management.
