MIMOS Appoints Saat Shukri Embong as New President and Group CEO

MIMOS Bhd has appointed Saat Shukri Embong as its new president and group CEO, effective July 14, 2025. Saat Shukri has a deep understanding of technology innovation and commercialisation, with extensive experience in the semiconductor industry. He joins MIMOS from various positions including Motorola Inc, STATSChipPAC Inc, and the Prime Minister's Office. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Under his leadership, MIMOS is poised to accelerate its contributions to national technology advancement.

MIMOS Bhd has announced the appointment of Dr. Saat Shukri Embong as its new President and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective July 14, 2025. Dr. Embong brings a wealth of experience in technology innovation and commercialization, particularly in the semiconductor industry. He joins MIMOS from a distinguished career that includes stints at Motorola Inc., STATSChipPAC Inc., and the Prime Minister's Office.

Dr. Embong's extensive experience spans over two decades. He began his career at Motorola Inc. in 1995, followed by ON Semiconductor Inc. in 1998, where he served as the New Product Introduction Programme Manager. His tenure at various semiconductor companies, including STATSChipPAC Inc., Infineon Technologies AG, Texas Instruments Inc., and Freescale Semiconductor Inc., has equipped him with a deep understanding of the industry. He also served as a senior advisor to the Prime Minister's Office from 2010 to 2012.

Dr. Embong holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. His academic background complements his practical experience, making him a well-rounded leader.

At MIMOS, Dr. Embong has held several key positions, including Director of Research and Development, leading various collaborations with industry, universities, and international research institutions. He also served as the Head of Technology and Product Development, overseeing strategic initiatives and commercialization efforts. Most recently, he has been the Chief Sector for Technology Business, driving innovation and partnerships.

Under Dr. Embong's leadership, MIMOS aims to accelerate its contributions to national technology advancement. His expertise in technology innovation and commercialization will be instrumental in positioning Malaysia as a leader in the global technology landscape.
