Newton Golf has partnered with PGA TOUR champion Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who will play the company's shaft technology. Jiménez won his 16th PGA TOUR Champions title using the Newton Fast Motion shaft, introduced in April 2025. This marks the second professional Tour win for Newton Golf's Motion shaft brand.
The PGA Tour has appointed Brian Rolapp, a seasoned executive from the NFL, as the CEO of its newly formed commercial division, PGA Tour Enterprises. Rolapp, who has been with the NFL since 2003 and served as executive vice president and chief media and business officer, will oversee the commercial arm of the tour, which was established following a tentative agreement with Saudi backers of LIV Golf [1].
The appointment comes after Jay Monahan, the current commissioner of the PGA Tour, announced the search for a CEO of PGA Tour Enterprises in December 2023. The tour has seen a significant investment from Strategic Sports Group (SSG), which includes a $1.5 billion investment, and has been planning for new broadcast deals that run through 2030 [1].
Rolapp brings a wealth of experience in media and business, having worked closely with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. His appointment is part of the tour's strategy to bring new perspectives and expertise to help realize the opportunities ahead for the sport. The move is also seen as a way to capitalize on the strong uptick in fan engagement and feedback, including a recent decision to revamp the Tour Championship to crown its FedEx Cup champion [1].
Meanwhile, negotiations with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) to bring the world's best players together have stalled. LIV Golf has since hired Scott O'Neil as its new CEO. The appointment of Rolapp is expected to help the PGA Tour navigate the complexities of the evolving golf landscape and strengthen its commercial endeavors [1].
