Migrating On-Premises Data Volumes to the Cloud with AWS MGN, AWS DataSync, and Amazon FSx

AWS MGN and AWS DataSync are used to decouple compute and data layers in cloud migration. This strategy involves migrating large on-premises data volumes to Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP using AWS DataSync, preserving file permissions and metadata. This allows for flexible, enterprise-grade managed storage and access to features like automated backups and disaster recovery. AWS Application Migration Service (AWS MGN) is used to selectively replicate only the OS and application volumes.
