But the preview is precisely that — a concept on a booth, aimed at automotive, commercial-vehicle, industrial, security, defense, and aerial buyers, with no named customer, no unit volume, and no revenue attached to it. It's whether there's anything behind it yet — and the financials say not much.

What the platform is really answering

MicroVision is effectively the survivor of someone else's war. In early 2026 it closed a roughly $33 million asset purchase from Luminar Technologies — which had filed for bankruptcy — plus an acquisition from Scantinel Photonics. The demo is the easy part. The delivery schedule and the capital behind it are the part that decides whether this is a real lidar player or another rolling preview.
