Microsoft Partners with People Inc. to Launch Publisher Content Marketplace

People Inc., the largest media publisher in the US, has signed an AI licensing deal with Microsoft, becoming a launch partner in Microsoft's publisher content marketplace. The deal differs from People Inc.'s earlier agreement with OpenAI, which was more of an "all-you-can-eat" model. People Inc. has been critical of AI companies ingesting media without paying, but has taken issue with Google's use of the same bot to crawl websites for its search engine and AI features.
