Michael Saylor Invites Joe Rogan to Discuss Bitcoin

Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy, has publicly expressed his desire to discuss Bitcoin on The Joe Rogan Experience, one of the world's most popular podcasts. In a May 31 post on X, Saylor responded to a fan account asking who Rogan should interview next, stating, "Hey @joerogan, let’s talk about Bitcoin." This invitation sparked excitement within the Bitcoin community, with some speculating that such an interview could have a significant impact.
The Bitcoin community's enthusiasm was evident, with popular figures like The Bitcoin Therapist predicting that the interview would "shatter the internet." Crypto analyst Kook suggested that Saylor could "Bitcoin pill Joe Rogan," while commentator Brandon MacDougal expressed his intention to watch the podcast for the first time if Saylor were the guest. Rogan has a history of discussing cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin, on his show. In an October 2023 episode with OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, Rogan highlighted his fascination with Bitcoin, noting its potential to become a universal viable currency due to its limited supply. He also praised the implementation of Bitcoin, indicating a positive stance towards the cryptocurrency.
Rogan's interest in Bitcoin is not new. Between 2014 and 2016, when Bitcoin was trading below $1,000, he featured Bitcoin entrepreneur Andreas Antonopoulos on his podcast, giving the topic significant airtime even in its early days. Saylor's firm, Strategy, holds a substantial amount of Bitcoin, valued at $60.47 billion according to Saylor Tracker. On May 10, Saylor speculated on why Bitcoin's price had not yet reached $150,000, attributing it to a rotation in the market where short-term holders are selling off while new investors are entering. This analysis suggests a dynamic market environment where long-term holders and new entrants are influencing Bitcoin's price movements.
The potential interview between Saylor and Rogan could further amplify the discussion around Bitcoin, given Rogan's wide-reaching audience and Saylor's prominent role in the Bitcoin community. The excitement and speculation within the community underscore the potential impact of such an interview, which could bring Bitcoin to the forefront of public conversation once again.
