Metropolis Bridges Web2 and Web3 with Immersive Virtual Experiences

Metropolis, an immersive virtual platform, is bridging the gap between Web2 and Web3 through storytelling, art, and virtual experiences. Founded by Rania Ajami and her brother Rashid Ajami, the platform aims to create a dynamic and vibrant world where users can connect emotionally through storytelling while blending physical and digital experiences.

The platform features a virtual city with over 500 unique locations, including jungles, residential homes, party houses, art galleries, exclusive clubs, and DJ towers, each with its own lore, characters, and storylines. Users can host digital events, build communities, stream content, and sell artwork in customized spaces. Metropolis has partnered with over 400 creators and artists from various fields, including fashion, film, and music, such as Yung Gravy, Steve Aoki, Christian Cowan, Blondish, and Mike Shinoda.

Rania Ajami highlighted the platform's focus on creators and brands, offering them properties and AI agents that can be trained to create mini-games and chat groups. This allows creators to have their own world within the platform, unlike the generic scroll feed of social media profiles. Users can obtain a passport, choose an avatar, and explore Metropolis X, the platform’s gamified marketplace, to create their own places and experiences.

Rashid Ajami emphasized the platform's support for custodial wallets and the use of credit cards within the marketplace, making it accessible to a broader audience. The project has also launched a token, CLAY, which facilitates real experiences within the Metropolis world. CLAY is an ecosystem token that unlocks quests, early access to products, discounts, meeting groups with different creators and brands, leveling up in games, and ways to customize properties. Staking options for CLAY are available to Metropolis users, with more governance features to be added in the future.

The platform's focus on removing traditional Web3 barriers and providing a seamless experience for users and creators sets it apart in the evolving landscape of virtual platforms.
