Meta(META.US) said on Thursday that it would release an artificial intelligence model called Meta Motivo that can control the actions of a digital agent that looks like a human, potentially enhancing the metaverse experience.Meta also released several AI models for developers to use for free, believing that an open approach can promote the creation of better tools for its services, benefiting its business.The company said that Meta Motivo solved the common problem of body control in digital avatars, allowing them to move in a more realistic and human-like way. "We believe this research can pave the way for fully embodied agents in the metaverse, resulting in more realistic NPCs (non-player characters), democratized character animation, and new immersive experiences."Meta also released AI tools such as the large concept model LCM and video watermarking tool Video Seal, and reiterated its commitment to continuous investment in AI, AR, and metaverse technologies.The company has invested hundreds of billions of dollars in AI, augmented reality, and other metaverse technologies, pushing its 2024 capital expenditure forecast to a record high of $37 billion to $40 billion.
