Leland King Fawcette, a meme coin developer, is currently on a mission to break the world record for solo-traveling all 50 American states. He embarked on this journey on June 11 from White River Junction, Vermont, aiming to complete the trip by June 19 at 7:33 PM EDT. As of the latest update, Fawcette has successfully traversed 47 states in approximately seven days, with a significant portion of the journey still ahead.

Fawcette's journey is not just a personal challenge but also a promotional stunt for his newly launched Solana meme coin, 50STATES. He is livestreaming the entire trip on Pump.fun, a token launchpad he used to create the coin. The event is part of a series of streams on Pump.fun, which has become a popular platform for meme coin creators.

Fawcette believes that modern technology, such as satellite navigation and more efficient routes, gives him an advantage over Barry Stiefel, who set the current record of eight days and seven hours in 1998. Fawcette's goal is to not only break the record but also to validate the feasibility of achieving a sub-eight-day, seven-hour time with current technology.

Despite the challenges, including vast distances to cover and inclement weather, Fawcette remains optimistic.
