Melbourne surgeons face lawsuit over alleged multimillion-dollar fraud involving fraudulent billing and assistant surgeon fees

Victoria's Transport Accident Commission will launch legal action against several surgeons at Royal Melbourne Hospital for allegedly issuing fraudulent bills on an industrial scale, totaling millions of dollars. The investigation, which has been ongoing for over a decade, involves thousands of patients and alleged billing for procedures that never occurred. The TAC has also launched a separate investigation into private hospitals in Melbourne.
