MegaETH's Real-Time Blockchain Testnet Launches This Week
MegaETH, a layer-2 Ethereum scaling solution, is set to launch its real-time blockchain testnet this week. The deployment is scheduled to begin on March 6, with a target of achieving 100,000 transactions per second (TPS).
The project, which is supported by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Dragonfly Capital, aims to deliver high-speed transactions on the Ethereum network. The upcoming testnet launch is a significant milestone for MegaETH, as it moves closer to its goal of providing real-time blockchain performance.
MegaETH has raised 4,964 ETH (approximately $13 million) in early February to fund its development and expansion. The project's public testnet deployment is expected to attract significant attention from the crypto community, as it seeks to address the scalability challenges faced by the Ethereum network.
The launch of the MegaETH testnet comes amidst a flurry of activity in the Ethereum ecosystem. Earlier this month, aave deployed lending markets on sonic, its first Layer 1 network. Meanwhile, Ethereum developers have activated the Pectra upgrade on the Sepolia testnet, further enhancing the network's capabilities.
