MDU Resources Group (NYSE: MDU) has announced the election of Charles M. Kelley and Tammy J. Miller to its board of directors, effective August 12, 2025. The appointments come as the company looks to bolster its board with experts in pipeline development, regulatory strategy, and corporate governance.
Charles M. Kelley, a former senior vice president of Natural Gas Pipelines at ONEOK, brings over 40 years of industry experience. During his tenure at ONEOK, he oversaw more than $600 million in capital projects and significantly increased EBITDA. His expertise in pipeline development, regulatory strategy, and capital planning will be valuable as MDU Resources' pipeline subsidiary, WBI Energy, pursues growth opportunities in natural gas transmission and storage [1].
Tammy J. Miller, a former lieutenant governor of North Dakota, offers a strong combination of executive leadership and public service. As the CEO and board chair of Border States, she grew the company from $485 million to nearly $2.5 billion in annual sales. Miller's experience aligns well with MDU Resources' mission and geographic footprint, and she brings valuable perspectives on public policy, finance, and corporate governance [2].
Both directors will serve on the Audit Committee, providing expertise in pipeline development, regulatory strategy, and corporate governance to MDU Resources. The company operates a 3,800-mile natural gas pipeline network and serves over 1.2 million utility customers across the Pacific Northwest and Midwest.
"We're pleased to welcome Chuck and Tammy to the MDU Resources board," said Darrel Anderson, chair of the board. "We expect Chuck's extensive pipeline experience will be a strong asset to our natural gas transmission business, and Tammy's leadership in both business and government will bring valuable insight as we continue to grow and serve our communities. We look forward to the contributions they will make to our board and our company."
