MDA Space Awarded $32M Contract with Canadian Defence Department for Ground-Based Optical Capability

MDA Space has been contracted by Canada's Defence Investment Agency to deliver three Ground-Based Optical observatories for the Department of National Defence. Valued at approximately $32 million, the contract will enable MDA Space to provide persistent, reliable space surveillance from the ground. The observatories will be remotely operated in Alberta, Manitoba, and New Brunswick, providing additional defence capabilities to Canada's existing Sapphire satellite.
