Mawson Finland Unveils High-Grade Gold and Cobalt Discoveries in Rajapalot Exploration

Mawson Finland Limited reported a successful 2024 drilling program at the Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland. Highlights include the discovery of a new high-grade zone, 'New Lens', and a step-out intercept with significant gold and cobalt grades. Mawson Finland Limited, a Canadian exploration company with a significant presence in Finland, recently reported successful results from its 2024 drilling program at the Rajapalot gold-cobalt project. The company's wholly-owned project has shown promising signs of expansion and enhancement of its mineral resources, particularly in the Palokas zone [1].

The drilling campaign, consisting of 38 holes, focused on the Palokas zone, which is known for its gold and cobalt mineralization. Highlights from the program include the discovery of a new high-grade zone, named 'New Lens,' and a step-out intercept with significant gold and cobalt grades [1]. The company also reported expansions of mineralized footprints at Raja, The Hut, Terry's Hammer, and Joki [1].

One of the most noteworthy results came from hole PAL0346, which intercepted 7 meters of 9.1 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 706 parts per million (ppm) cobalt from 88.75 meters. This thicker and higher-grade mineralization in the southern margin of the Palokas gold-cobalt system is particularly exciting and suggests the potential for further growth [1].

Another significant result was obtained from hole PAL0354, which intercepted 12 meters of 1.7 g/t gold from 416 meters. This intercept not only demonstrates the presence of gold mineralization at depth but also opens new vectors for further exploration [1].

The program's success is not limited to these highlights alone. Holes PAL0351, PAL0354, PAL0357, and PAL0362 also intercepted mineralized extensions to the south of the previously known extents of the Palokas system, further enhancing its potential [1].

Ms. Noora Ahola, CEO of Mawson Finland, expressed her excitement about the results, stating that they demonstrate the mineralization at Palokas is "wide open both to the south-west and down dip" [1]. The company looks forward to reporting further drill results in the coming weeks.
