The partnership aims to modernize the HSM market and enable Azure customers to leverage the latest security standards for cloud-scale applications. Marvell's PCIe-based LiquidSecurity HSMs, powered by optimized OCTEON DPUs, can manage 100,000 encryption key pairs and process over one million operations per second [1].
The Azure Cloud HSM service offers a highly available, single-tenant environment for managing cryptographic keys and performing cryptographic operations. It is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified, ensuring robust security and compliance standards [1]. The HSM-as-a-service market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 8.5% through 2029, driven by increasing demand for secure, cloud-based solutions [2].
"Together, we share a vision to modernize the HSM market and enable Azure customers to leverage the latest security standards for the most demanding, cloud-scale applications," said Will Chu, senior vice president and general manager of Custom Cloud Solutions at Marvell [1].
"This collaboration allows us to offer Microsoft Azure customers the most secure and compliant key management services available in public, sovereign or government clouds today," said Soumya Subramanian, vice president of Cloud Security Engineering at Microsoft [1].
