Marvell's 45% Growth Outlook Says AI Capex Is Still Flying Its Way

Marvell's revenue mix makes it a concentrated AI infrastructure bet
Marvell is no longer a maybe-AI-exposed semiconductor name. It is increasingly a data-center story: roughly 74% of total revenue came from data center products in the fourth quarter. That makes the stock a fairly concentrated bet on AI infrastructure spending, and the latest quarter suggests that bet is still working.
Revenue reached $2.219 billion, up 22% year over year, while margins remained strong at 59.0% non-GAAP gross margin and 35.7% non-GAAP operating margin. This was not just a revenue beat. The mix is favorable, the profitability held up, and the AI capex cycle continues to support the parts of the business where MarvellMRVL-- is most exposed.
Why that mix matters
Marvell sits where hyperscaler capex and custom ASIC demand meet networking and connectivity upgrades. As AI clusters expand, customers need more optics, more interconnect, and more custom-silicon support. That is the part of the stack where Marvell has been gaining traction.
Management said bookings are growing at a record pace, and outside analysis said visibility is improving for the same reason. Bulls see that as evidence that Marvell is taking a larger share of AI buildout spending. Skeptics see a stock where expectations rise quickly, leaving less room for error. Either way, the next few quarters matter because they have to keep validating the story.
Marvell's guide suggests the growth window may still be opening
One strong quarter can spark FOMO. A reshaped two-year outlook suggests the setup may still have legs.

After the Q4 beat, Marvell immediately raised the bar, pointing to about $2.598 billion in Q2 fiscal 2027 revenue and revising its fiscal 2028 view to roughly $16.5 billion, about $1.5 billion above the prior outlook. That matters because it pushes investors beyond a one-quarter story and into a path of continued expansion, with year-over-year revenue growth expected to accelerate in each quarter of 2027.
Why the story can still compound
The important signal is bookings, not just one quarter of shipments. Marvell said it is seeing exceptional AI-related bookings, and external commentary said bookings continue at a record pace with expanding attach across AI infrastructure. In practical terms, customers are committing early and taking more of the product basket with them.
AI clusters do not need just one type of chip. They need optics, custom ASIC support, and switching to tie the fabric together. Marvell spans several of those areas, which is why the bull case is not limited to a single product ramp.
Custom silicon is a key part of that logic. Marvell helps hyperscalers navigate the design and manufacturing of their own processors, which can deepen customer relationships once development is underway. The company also completed acquisitions of Celestial AI and XConn Technologies last month, with expected contribution in fiscal 2028. That broadens the business beyond the core engine and gives Marvell a wider role in networking and connectivity spend.
What investors should watch next
The near-term watchlist is straightforward:
- Whether bookings stay strong
- Whether Marvell keeps delivering beat-and-raise quarters
- Whether custom-silicon ramps continue
- Whether optical and networking content remain healthy
- Whether margins hold up as growth accelerates
If execution keeps landing, the current narrative still has room to prove itself. If the cadence breaks, the higher bar management just set becomes a bigger risk.
Valuation is the reason entry discipline still matters
Marvell may be a genuine AI winner, but this is still a valuation trade. The stock has already had a major move, and with a forward P/E of 69.41, investors are paying up for future growth. That does not invalidate the bull case; it just raises the standard for entry.
Bulls still have recent support from the Street: recent Buy calls include a $250 target from Oppenheimer and a $321 target from Stifel. Even so, owning a strong business is different from buying it at a moonshot multiple without patience.
Buy dips, not heat
The chart still looks hot. Options traders were noting another new high even as momentum indicators pointed to an overbought tape. That makes the setup simpler:
- Do not chase a post-earnings spike just because the quarter was strong.
- Prefer weakness that still has a thesis.
- Scale in only when the operating proof keeps showing up.
The market still wants a clean beat-and-raise rhythm. Management has pointed to exceptional AI-related bookings, and the last report delivered $2.219 billion in Q4 revenue with 59.0% non-GAAP gross margin. Use pullbacks to test whether that momentum is still intact.
If execution continues, investors who own a rich stock can still be right. If the momentum stalls, a high multiple is not a shield.
