• Price hovered tightly around the $1 peg with minimal 24-hour range of 0.9962–0.9970.
• Low volatility confirmed by narrow Bollinger Bands and subdued RSI below 30.
• Macroeconomic uncertainty and reduced trading activity suppressed significant directional movement.
At 12:00 ET on 2025-11-12, TrueUSD/Tether (TUSDUSDT) opened at 0.9966, reached a high of 0.9970, a low of 0.9962, and closed at 0.9964. Total volume for the 24-hour period was 169,867.0 units, with a notional turnover of $168,853.00. The market remained largely range-bound, reflecting reduced liquidity and a lack of macroeconomic catalysts.
Price remained tightly clustered around the 0.9965 pivot level on the 15-minute chart, with no significant bullish or bearish candlestick patterns emerging. The occasional 0.9964–0.9966 range saw multiple attempts at breakouts but lacked the volume or
to confirm a directional bias. A small bearish engulfing pattern formed near 0.9966–0.9965 in the late hours, hinting at possible profit-taking or minor bearish sentiment. The 20-period and 50-period moving averages on the 15-minute chart remained nearly flat, converging around 0.9965. This suggests the market is in a consolidation phase with no strong trend. On the daily chart, the 50, 100, and 200-period SMAs are also aligned near 0.9965, reinforcing the perception of a stable peg with limited volatility.
The MACD histogram remained near zero with a flat signal line, indicating a balance between bullish and bearish momentum. RSI values remained below 30 for most of the day, indicating oversold conditions, but without corresponding price strength. This is typical of stablecoins experiencing minimal price deviation from their peg.

Bollinger Bands were narrowly contracted, with the 20-period standard deviation at its lowest for the period. This suggests a period of consolidation and reduced volatility. Prices spent most of the day trading within the middle band, with only a few minor excursions toward the upper and lower bands, which were quickly reversed.
Trading volume showed moderate activity in the late afternoon and early evening ET, with a few spikes exceeding 10,000 units. However, notional turnover remained low, as the price range was minimal. No notable price-volume divergences were observed, suggesting that price stability was supported by consistent order flow.
Fibonacci retracements drawn on the 15-minute chart identified the 0.9964–0.9966 range as a key 38.2–50% retracement level. Prices spent the majority of the day oscillating within this band, suggesting a lack of strong buyers or sellers pushing the asset above or below the stable peg.
The MACD Golden-Cross strategy, which relies on momentum crossovers to generate long/short signals, has proven largely ineffective for
over the past three years. Given the asset's near-stable nature, the strategy produced many small, whipsaw trades with minimal room for profit. The cumulative return of -5.18% and Sharpe ratio of -0.57 confirm this, as do the frequent exits based on MACD dead crosses rather than stop-loss triggers. For TUSDUSDT, a stablecoin, this type of momentum-based trading is unsuitable. However, in more volatile assets, the strategy could be enhanced by tightening stop-loss levels (e.g., 1–2%) and incorporating volume or trend filters to reduce false signals.Decoding market patterns and unlocking profitable trading strategies in the crypto space
