Manus responds to the freeze of his X account: He claims to have never been involved in cryptocurrency projects.
China's mainland general-purpose AI agent Manus, which has garnered significant attention in the tech industry, had its official X account suspended yesterday for violating platform rules. Manus co-founder and chief scientist Ji Yichao issued a statement on X, stating that the company is actively cooperating with the X team to resolve the issue. Ji Yichao suggested that initial observations indicate the suspension may be related to third-party mentions of cryptocurrency scams. He clarified that Manus has never been involved in cryptocurrency projects, token issuance, or blockchain plans, and any cryptocurrency companies with similar names claiming to be associated with Manus are fraudulent. The company is taking legal action against these imposters and encourages users to report suspicious accounts.
China's mainland AI startup Monica announced earlier this week that it had launched Manus, which can execute users' ideas as finished products. Unlike the one-to-one question-and-answer framework of general AI large models, according to Monica's website, Manus can combine thinking and action, think and execute work directly to provide users with the results they need. Manus can search for the necessary information on the Internet by itself, write Python code for analysis by itself, and finally generate text reports, web pages, or images according to users' requirements. The use cases shared by official and early users show that Manus can be used to analyze stock performance, screen job seekers' resumes, plan travel routes, and organize class recordings into notes.
Manus founder is a young "90s" serial entrepreneur Xiao Hong, who graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology's software engineering major, younger than DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng.
