Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton, but face a transfer record for an African player if they can persuade Brighton to sell him. Brighton are adamant he is not for sale, and it is understood it would require an offer well above £72m to tempt them into changing their stance. Liverpool are also considering a move for Parma centre-half Giovanni Leoni as they look to increase Arne Slot's defensive options.
