According to a statement released by Police Transport Command, the women, both aged 22, were traveling on a train between Circular Quay and Lidcombe Railway Stations when they were approached by an unknown man. After a brief conversation, the man allegedly sprayed the women with pepper spray before boarding another carriage.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the victims at Lidcombe Railway Station and transported them to Auburn Hospital in a stable condition. The man is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, with a medium build, standing between 170cm and 175cm tall. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark blue cap, black headphones, an olive green jacket, and dark-colored pants.
Police are appealing to the public for information about the suspect or anyone who may have seen the incident. The man was last seen leaving Parramatta Railway Station shortly before midnight.
