Magnificent 7: NVDA surged 4.05% as Google Kubernetes supports Nvidia Nim

1. Nvidia (Nasdaq: NVDA)
Nvidia gained solidly by 4.05%. Nvidia is seen as having significant upside potential by analysts, with Cantor Fitzgerald maintaining an Overweight rating and UBS affirming a Buy at a $150 target. Google's Kubernetes Engine now supports Nvidia's Nim, expanding AI technology usage.

2. Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL)
Apple gained mildly by 1.84%. CCS Insight predicts Apple may launch a smart ring by 2026 due to its health focus, competing with Samsung's Galaxy Ring. Apple has also discontinued iPod nano, iPod shuffle, and iPhone 6, marking an end of an era.

3. Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA)
Tesla gained mildly by 1.52%. Truist Securities reiterated its "Hold" rating on Tesla with a price target of $236.00. RBC Capital maintained an "Outperform" rating, also with a $236.00 target. Tesla's Q2 2024 revenue was $46.801 billion, a 3.02% decrease year-on-year.

4. Meta (Nasdaq: META)
Meta gained mildly by 1.39%. Meta will release its Q3 2024 earnings on October 30, followed by an earnings call at 5 PM. Additionally, Meta introduced the AI video generator Movie Gen and announced the VR game Frenzies for Meta Quest. European Union court limits Facebook data for advertising use.

5. Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT)
Microsoft gained mildly by 1.26%. Microsoft's trading volume on October 8 reached $7.855 billion, ranking third in the US market. Truist Securities reiterated a "buy" rating with a $600 target price, while Oppenheimer downgraded Microsoft to "perform" citing revenue and EPS concerns. Windows 11 22H2 support ends October 8.

6. Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN)
Amazon gained mildly by 1.06%. Amazon saw a trading volume of $4.762 billion on October 8, ranking 7th. Their AWS unit announced a strategic partnership with Oracle to launch Oracle Database@Amazon Web Services. U.S. courts allowed the FTC's antitrust lawsuit against Amazon to proceed.

7. Alphabet (Nasdaq: GOOG)
Alphabet gained mildly by 0.80%. Google announces Nvidia Nim availability on Google Kubernetes Engine. The company seeks nuclear energy for data centers, partnering with utilities in regulated markets. A US court mandates Google to open Android to third-party app stores, impacting Google Play revenue. Google and Vodafone expand AI collaboration in Europe and Africa.
