Madhya Pradesh Welcomes Two New Cheetahs in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary

Two cheetahs, Prabhas and Pawak, have been relocated to the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh from the Kuno National Park. The decision was made by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav after reviewing the Cheetah Project with the state's Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav. This move aims to expand the cheetah population in India and create a more diverse habitat for the big cats.

Madhya Pradesh is set to expand its Cheetah project by relocating two cheetahs, Prabhas and Pawak, to the Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary. The Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary, located on the border of Mandsaur and Neemuch districts, offers a suitable environment for the cheetahs. The sanctuary's expansive area and varied ecosystem provide ample space for the big cats to thrive. The relocation is expected to take place on April 20, 2025.
