A lawsuit has been filed by Brockovich Group against Genasys Inc. and Los Angeles County, alleging that the communications contractor's failure to evacuate residents in the path of a January wildfire led to 18 deaths. The group claims that Genasys engaged in "digital redlining" by not sending timely warnings to residents of a historically African American neighborhood in Altadena. Southern California Edison is also a defendant in the suit, which is related to a separate lawsuit against the utility over claims that its equipment ignited the fire.
