Longi Eyes Global PV Leadership with Bold Innovations and Expanding Capacity

In a recent interview on CCTV2's "Dialogue" program, Longi Green Energy Chairman Zhong Baoshen expressed optimism about the future despite past challenges in the photovoltaic (PV) sector. Zhong stated that innovation is the core driver of China's PV development and will play a key role in overcoming current difficulties.

Zhong highlighted Longi's focus on BC cell technology, emphasizing the high efficiency of its products and substantial upcoming production capacity. By the first quarter of next year, Longi plans to deploy 20GW of second-generation HPBC capacity, with expectations to reach 70GW by the end of 2025.

The PV industry has faced significant challenges over the past year, marked by overcapacity and falling prices. However, Zhong mentioned that Longi's toughest period has passed. The company is actively investing in differentiated products and focusing on maintaining stable cash flow and financial health.

Zhong also noted that the global energy transformation presents vast opportunities for PV development, emphasizing that Longi is committed to capitalizing on this demand by promoting its proprietary technology worldwide.

As the industry continues to evolve, Zhong believes that differentiation and high-value products are crucial for sustaining profits. He acknowledged that while the competitive landscape will continue to evolve, there remains a considerable space for effective differentiation strategies within the sector.
