Lockheed Martin Delivers First Aegis System Equipped Vessel to Japan Ministry of Defense

Lockheed Martin has successfully delivered the first Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) shipset to the Japan Ministry of Defense. The ASEV is equipped with four AN/SPY-7(V)1 radar antennas, and both ships are on track for commissioning in 2027 and 2028. The SPY-7 radar offers advanced detection and tracking capabilities, enhancing naval forces' effectiveness in a dynamic environment. The radar is also being produced for Canada's River-Class Destroyers, Spain's F-110 Frigates, and the Guam Defense System.
