Litecoin Surges 11% in Largest Daily Gain Since January
Litecoin, the fifth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, surged by 11% on Monday, marking its largest one-day percentage gain since late January. The rally pushed Litecoin's market cap to $8.795 billion, representing 0.28% of the total cryptocurrency market cap.
Over the past seven days, Litecoin has seen a significant increase in value, gaining 19.83%. The volume of Litecoin traded in the 24 hours leading up to Monday was $1.056 billion, or 1.02% of the total volume of all cryptocurrencies. The digital currency has traded in a range of $98.6150 to $117.2749 in the past week.
Despite the recent rally, Litecoin is still down 72.08% from its all-time high of $420.00, which was set on December 12, 2017. The digital currency had traded in a range of $107.168 to $117.275 in the previous 24 hours before Monday's rally.
Meanwhile, other major cryptocurrencies also experienced price movements. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, rose by 0.77% to $97,840.5. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, fell by 0.79% to $2,646.88.
Bitcoin's market cap was last at $1,938.072 billion, representing 60.72% of the total cryptocurrency market cap. Ethereum's market cap totaled $318.814 billion, accounting for 9.99% of the total cryptocurrency market value.
