LinkedIn has introduced a new set of Member Post Analytics APIs, allowing third-party social media management platforms to integrate more LinkedIn post performance data, including video performance. This enhancement aims to provide users with a more comprehensive view of their content's performance and enable comparisons with other platforms.

The new APIs will enable users to track their LinkedIn profile and post analytics within the dashboards of their preferred third-party social media management tools. This includes metrics such as follower insights, post performance numbers, and video analytics [1]. Video content has seen a significant rise in popularity, with watch time increasing by 36% year-over-year (YoY) in 2024 and videos being 20x more likely to be shared compared to other post types [1]. The increased availability of video performance data will facilitate better content management and strategy development.

Previously, LinkedIn Company Pages had access to expanded data insights via its Marketing APIs, but this is the first time individual user accounts can access more in-depth performance data in external apps. The new data points will be accessible in major social media management platforms such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprinklr, Metricool, Oktopost, Zoho, mLabs, SocialPilot, Later, Publer, and Vista Social [1].

The new Member Post Analytics APIs are part of LinkedIn's ongoing efforts to provide users with more insights and tools to build their LinkedIn strategy. By offering more detailed performance data, LinkedIn aims to help users align with key engagement trends and maximize their presence on the platform.
